Abbas Ali Zamani completed his B.Sc. in Plant Protection at Isfahan University of Technology in 1999, followed by an M.Sc. (2002) and a Ph.D. (2007) in Agricultural Entomology from Tarbiat Modares University. He expanded his research expertise during a sabbatical leave as an academic visitor at the Department of Community Ecology, University of Bern, Switzerland, from October 2006 to March 2007.

His research focuses on insect ecology, population dynamics, prey-predator interactions, integrated pest management, and biological control contributing to a better understanding of ecological relationships and sustainable pest control strategies.

As an educator, he teaches courses in insect ecology, prey-predator dynamics, biological control, orchard pests, stored product pests, statistical methods in ecology, and toxicology.

He has held several administrative positions, including Head of the Library, Head of the Department, Deputy of the Faculty, and since 2024 has been fulfilling the role of Director General of Student Affairs at Razi university.
