Biography

Hassan Ali Vahedi received his associate degree in 1985 in Agronomy, from Razi University. His bachelor's degree in 1988 in Plant Protection from Isfahan University of Technology. His Master's degree in 1991 in Agricultural Entomology from Ahvaz University and his PhD in 2001 in insect systematics from Imperial College, University of London, UK.

Vahedi PhD thesis entitled: A revision of the genus Porphyrophora (Hemiptera: Coccoidea: Margarodidae) with particular reference to the middle east and with a discussion on the relationships of the Hypogaeic Margarodids 

In this study, the diversity of Hypogaeic Margarodids have been examined based on their evolutionary relationships, than their phylogenetic tree has been done.

Since 1991, he has been engaged in research and teaching at Plant Protection Dep.  Agricultural College, Razi University, as a scientific member. He teaches courses in entomology and biological control at the undergraduate, MSc, and PhD levels. So far, he has acted as the first supervisor for 10 PhD students and 28 MSc students in various topics related to Agricultural Entomology and Biological Control.
